In the last two weeks, confirmed cases have increased in Pichincha (19%), Imbabura (12%) and Cotopaxi (11%).
The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) reported the results of 1.001 tests processed in the last 24 hours, of which 282 (28%) were positive, so that the confirmed cases amount to 147.315; while the cases discarded increased to 253.307.
Deaths in the context of Covid-19 rise to 12.218 (27 more than the day before): 7.976 confirmed deaths for the virus and 4.242 probable deaths from coronavirus.
The MSP registered 128.134 recovered patients last Sunday, equivalent to 87% of all confirmed cases that day. The Ministry explained that these are people who, 29 days after diagnosis, are still alive. The government will update this figure every week.
Until October 4, 2020, the Civil Registry figures reported 35.589 deaths above the average of the previous two years, only during the pandemic. These are deaths from all kinds of causes.
Carchi, Pichincha, Azuay and Imbabura are the provinces with the highest mortality rate in recent weeks. (C.D.A.)
