Ecuador reports 607 new infections and 5 more deaths with COVID-19

Pichincha has 375 more infections than yesterday and adds a total of 12,089 infected

The country reports 74,620 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 8,697 deaths due to this pandemic. In the last 24 hours alone, 607 new infections were reported.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health, there are 74,620 infected, 101,720 cases discarded, 5,318 deaths with a positive prognosis and 3,379 deaths suspected of carrying the disease.

Regarding the situation of the infected: 36,270 are in home isolation, 732 are stable hospitalized and 345 with a reserved prognosis. There are 1,077 hospitalized patients, being the sixth consecutive day with more than a thousand hospitalized.

While citizens denounce that there are no beds available in Quito and other cantons of the Sierra, for which many die without being attended, especially in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zevallos, He reiterated this Sunday, July 19 that everyone is being cared for, despite the fact that, he admitted, there is no space in intensive care in the capital.

There are 23 days without the country reporting a recovered patient and it has remained at 5,900 since June 29.

In addition, there are 9,725 people who were discharged from hospital and 16,330, for three days, who received an epidemiological discharge.

Pichincha reports 375 new infections in the last 24 hours. There are now 12,089 infected. Quito has 368 infected more than yesterday, now there are 10,967.
